Moderate-strong intensity diffuse/synaptic-type immunostaining is noticed throughout the entire olfactory bulb and forebrain, with the exception of the globus pallidus-ventral pallidum and the hypothalamus (anterior and tuberal parts) where the staining is weak or absent.
In the brainstem, the protein expression is low: only the periaqueductal gray matter, substantia nigra-VTA, pontine nuclei, locus coeruleus-parabrachial region and a few other medular nuclei exhibit weak diffuse-synaptic immunostaining.
In the cerebellum, the molecular- and Purkinje-cell layers exhibit strong diffuse-synaptic immunostaining pattern.
